Structural diagnosis and safety analysis of terrace structures
For Residence La Châtaigneraie, SANACON conducted an urgent technical investigation into the structural condition of the concrete terraces and facade beams. Given the observed cracking and visible corrosion, an in-depth analysis was necessary to assess the safety and feasibility of the repair plan.
Our approach:
Security screening: Immediate identification of critical stability risks, including advice on urgent suspension measures.
Destructive & Laboratory Testing: Core drilling, tensile testing of reinforcement steel, and compressive strength measurements to determine the actual residual capacity of the concrete.
Corrosion Diagnosis: Analysis of the reinforcement section and carbonation depth to map the impact of years of exposure to the elements.
Monitoring: Plasterboard testing to monitor active crack formation in the apartments.
Result: SANACON’s detailed diagnosis provided the client with clear insight into the technical limitations and the necessary repair steps. Thanks to our objective data, a safe repair plan could be developed that takes into account the specific load-bearing capacity of the existing structure.
