For Bionerga’s Biostoom site in Beringen, SANACON conducted a specialized study on the structural condition of the concrete walls of the waste bunkers. Given the extreme mechanical and chemical loads in such an environment, the concrete’s compliance with the specifications is essential for operational safety.

Phased Condition Assessment: Performing a detailed visual inspection to identify damage and wear patterns.
Destructive Material Analysis: Collection of drill cores to determine the true in-situ compressive strength and water absorption (WAI), crucial for fluid tightness and durability.
Specification validation: Objective testing of measurement results against the original technical specifications and standards.
Strategic Restoration Advice: Analysis of the causes of damage (normal wear and tear versus material defects) as the basis for a sustainable renovation and maintenance plan.
